Radipole Lake threads reedbeds through the middle of Weymouth, minutes from the beach — perhaps Britain's most urban reedbed reserve. Bearded tits ping along the paths, marsh harriers quarter the reeds and hooded mergansers of doubtful origin keep the rarity-finders arguing.
