Marshside birdwatching guide
Marshside is coastal grazing marsh on the Ribble estuary at Southport, where pink-footed geese arrive in tens of thousands each autumn and black-tailed godwits feed on the pools through the winter. Much of the reserve can be watched from the road and its hides, which makes it one of the easiest places in the north-west to see large flocks without a long walk.
