Newport Wetlands birdwatching guide
Newport Wetlands was created on the Severn Estuary's old power-station ash lagoons and is now Wales's flagship coastal wetland. Reedbeds ring with Cetti's warblers and bearded tits, avocets breed on the lagoons, and winter high tides push huge wader flocks up the estuary.
